Plug Power breaks ground, brings green energy to Vista Tech Park

Tuesday, March 8, Bethlehem Supervisor David VanLuven joined Governor Kathy Hochul, County Executive Dan McCoy, New Scotland Town Supervisor Doug LaGrange, and Plug Power CEO Andy Marsh at the groundbreaking for the new Plug Power facility in the Vista Tech Park in Slingerlands.

Plug Power is creating more than 1,600 green, good paying jobs and investing $55 million to build a state-of-the-art, 350,000 square foot facility at Vista where the company will develop its innovative GenDrive hydrogen fuel cell systems. This an incredibly important project for our community, our economy, and our environment—helping to position Bethlehem as a green energy hub in New York State and beyond—and was made possible by hard and collaborative work between the company, the Town of Bethlehem, Albany County IDA, Advance Albany County Alliance, Town of New Scotland, Bethlehem IDA, Bethlehem Central School District.
